Urban Reflection CAL Week 4: Border and Blocking

Sassy Girl Triangle Shawl

So I know what you're thinking. WHAT??? ANOTHER free pattern this month?!!! I know!!! Awesome right? I actually worked up the Sassy Girl Triangle Shawl in the car when my husband was able to go with me to run errands this month. A 40 min drive to and from town is such wasted crochet time! I have been wanting to design a shawl for a long time I love layers in spring and fall, easy to take off if it warms up or put on if it gets chilly. Plus, because it is a shawl you can make it as big or small as you want and you don't really have to worry about gauge so much. I was able to let both of my adorable girls model the same shawl for you because it is so versatile! Why "Sassy Girl Triangle Shawl" you ask? There's not a whole lot that's sassy about stripes. Well when I was taking quick pics for my testers so that they could see what it looked like I got this face: Then when I took pics for realsies outside I got the same face again! {This shot. ^} Look, ev

Ear Warmer Headband With a Twist

I don't know how spring is where you live but here it is WINDY!!!!! Finally we have sunshine and you step outside only to think that you misread the calendar because that wind slices right through you! It's AWFUL some days. If you don't stay warm and guard your ears you could have an ear infection in seconds! {Or it feels that way!} My kids are usually sick of hats by spring and just want to go outside and play without all the bulk so I designed the Ear Warmer Headband With a Twist for just these kinds of days.  The Ear Warmer Headband With a Twist is written for toddler, child and adult. It is a moebius headband which means that is has a twist in it and you will work around both sides of the headband before joining. In this headband you really can wear it with the twist wherever you want but I have my kids wear it with the twist in the back to make is slimmer and stay in place.  It's a really fun and easy technique once you understand what you are doin

We Have a New Look!!!

Did you guys notice that the blog has a little different look? A new header, I moved out the margins and I have plans later today to make a "grabable button." I had all of the logos redone for the blog and facebook. Get ready to see a lot of the following all over my pictures and social media!!! Mad Queen Mother did an AMAZING JOB!!!!!! At one point when I was sure that I was asking too much of her because I wasn't quite satisfied with how things were coming together she made every adjustment I asked for and then made a couple suggestions that I hadn't even thought of. She was wonderful to work with! I'm going to have her make logos for Country With Style as well and I can't wait!!!!!! What do you guys think? Below you will find examples of the new watermarks and my new FB logo.  You can find Mad Queen Mother on Etsy  and on Facebook . Have a great week and,  Be Happy!!!!

I was fortunate enough to be able to test this beautiful Chevron Lace Shrug by Glamour 4 You . It is amazing!!! I have been so excited to tell you about it because I just LOVE it!!! Not only are chevrons HUGE in the fashion world right now, they are actually pretty easy to work once you get the hang of it. The Chevron Lace Shrug is a great pattern for beginning "chevroners." There is a video to help and the pattern itself is so well written.

Too Yarn Cute eMag - Review - Just For Baby Issue 2014

I am so happy to be able to review this eMag for you all! Too Yarn Cute Crochet eMag is quickly becoming my favorite online subscription. With every issue it gets better and I am just giddy to be able to tell you about the issue that has just been released, the Just For Baby Issue!!!! First off let's get all the technical stuff out of the way. I was not paid to do this review, the only compensation I received was the eMag issue itself so that I could look through it and let you know what I think. This is my true and honest opinion. The Just For Baby Issue of Too Yarn Cute Crochet eMag is FULL of wonderful patterns. There isn't one in this issue that I would look twice at and maybe not spend money on. I want them all!!! That being said, it is such a great bargain to get 13 patterns for $4.99. I would say the average price for a single pattern on Ravelry is in that ballpark isn't it? And you get 13 patterns in the magazine.
